Please save the date for what promises to be an engaging and informative Talk Series.
This Monday, 22 November 2021, the ninth “Evening with Linguists” Talk Series and the first Special Evening Session will organize its broadcast.

The Linguistics Association UOK has arranged several keynote presentations by credible linguists and prominent professors. Those who will speak in order ‪Prof. Richard K. Larson, Distinguished Professor of Linguistics, Stony Brook University and Chair of LSA’s AP Linguistics Committee, ‪Prof. Vida Samiian, Professor of Linguistics at the California State University, Fresno, and ‪Prof. Simin Karimi, Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Arizona and PI of the Iranian Linguistics Research Team in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Arizona. All the sessions will be moderated by Dr. Yadgar Karimi, Professor of Linguistics at the University of Kurdistan, and co-moderated by Saeed Jafari.

The November/December’s Talk Series will last three weeks, from Monday, 22 May to Monday, 20 December 2021, which all Mondays scheduled in an Iranian timezone (in the evening) to allow the widest and most inclusive participation from the Iranian linguistics community.

For participants who are new(-ish) to linguistics and language sciences, this talk series will provide a unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with many different aspects of the field in one go — and for the rest of us, it’s an opportunity to both revisit the research structure and learn new things about Iranian languages.
