The system of grading at the University of Kurdistan (Sanandaj, Iran) is based on a 20 point scale. The grading system comparing the other well-known systems is as follows:

The minimum average acceptable for graduation in the B.Sc./B.A. and M.Sc./M.A. levels is respectively 12 and 14. Both M.Sc./M.A. and Ph.D. programs have two components, coursework and research. The minimum average for coursework component in the Ph.D. program is 16.
Universities and research institutes in Iran are open to all eligible Iranians and non-Iranian applicants. Two main ministries are responsible for directing the science, research, and technology. The first and the largest one of the two, is the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), which is in charge of all the courses of Basic Science, Human Science, Engineering, Art, Agriculture, and in charge of universities, research centers, and all Science and Technology Parks.
