In order to develop international activities of the University of Kurdistan, Sanandaj, Iran to admit more international students, and to support the students with reducing their tuition fees, the Directorate of International Affairs at the University of Kurdistan offers the “Tuition Fee Discount Regulations for International Students” in 8 articles and 4 notes which was affirmed by the International Relations Council of the University of Kurdistan.
Article 1: The amount of tuition fee discount for International Students of the University of Kurdistan will be offered by the Directorate of International Affairs at the beginning of each academic year that should be affirmed by the University’s International Relations Council to be effective.
Note 1: The tuition fee discount remains valid up to 8 semesters for bachelor and doctoral students and up to 4 semesters for master students.
Article 2: Faculties and staff introduced by the universities that have joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Kurdistan through an official support letter, can apply for 30 percent of tuition fee discount for maximum duration mentioned in Note 1, Article 1, after investigation of their support letter by the International Student Office and confirmation of the University’s International Relations Council.
Note 1: If a non-Iranian university that has an MoU with the University of Kurdistan, introduces its faculties and staff for pursuing their studies at the University of Kurdistan, that university can obtain 10 percent of tuition fee discount for each candidate which will be extendable up to 100 percent.
Article 3: Staff introduced by the ministries which do not have MoU with the University of Kurdistan, can apply for up to 20 percent of tuition fee discount once the ministry signs an MoU with the University of Kurdistan.
Article 4: If a current international student of the University of Kurdistan introduces any of his/her first class relatives (father, mother, brother, sister, child, and spouse) for pursuing their studies at the University of Kurdistan, both sides can apply for more 10 percent of tuition fee discount on top of all regular discounts mentioned in the Articles 1, 2, and 3. It should be noted that this discount will be effective from the first semester of the introduced person’s official registration.
Article 5: If a current international student of the University of Kurdistan introduces other applicants for pursuing their studies at the University of Kurdistan, that student can apply for more 5 percent of tuition fee discount for introducing each person on top of all regular discounts mentioned in the Articles 1, 2, and 3, after investigation of the case by the International Student Office and confirmation of the University’s International Relations Council.
Note 1: Introducing at least 15 candidates by a current international student of the University of Kurdistan, the tuition fee will be waived for that student in the following semesters.
Note 2: If the student already has a scholarship, the tuition fee exemption, mentioned in Note 1, will be given to him for applying to other applicants.
Article 6: If an international student of the University of Kurdistan can obtain rank 1 among all his/her fellow Iranian and Non-Iranian students based on an official report by the undergraduate or postgraduate office of the University of Kurdistan, that student can apply for up to 20 percent more tuition fee discount on top of all regular discounts mentioned in the Articles 1, 2, and 3 in the next semester.
Article 7: If a current international student of the University of Kurdistan continues his/her studies toward higher degrees at the University of Kurdistan after graduation from the current degree, that student can apply for 20 percent more tuition fee discount on top of all regular discounts mentioned in the Articles 1, 2, and 3.
Article 8: If an agency collaborates with the University of Kurdistan in terms of introducing international students, that agency can request a full tuition fee exemption from the University for introducing each 5 to 10 applicants, after investigation of their request by the International Student Office and confirmation of the University’s International Relations Council.
