UOK Finds Way into World’s Best Young Universities

In yet another gain of recognition, and for the first time in its history, the UOK has ranked 251-300 among the world’s youngest universities.

A report by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, released June 24, has assessed a selected list of 414 universities worldwide, placing the University of Kurdistan at the 251-300 rank.

Up from 13 in 2019, a total of 20 Iranian universities were covered in the fresh evaluation, with the UOK ranking 11 among them.

The assessment focused on the world’s best universities, which are aged below 50 years, using 13 criteria under the larger umbrellas of teaching, research, international outlook and industrial income.

Topping the list is Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, followed respectively by Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University and Paris Sciences et Lettres.

In its most recent report, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings also found the UOK at the 201-250 rank among Asian universities. A previous Times report in 2020 gave the UOK a +601 position for impact ranking, preceded by another comprehensive assessment, which placed the university among the top 801-1000 in the global ranking.
